Sean Mathis

Sean was born in Hawaii and raised in the Texas border town of El Paso. He obtained his Master’s in Photojournalism at the University of Texas at Austin, where he still resides when he's not traveling (which is often).

He is obsessed with documenting creatures in their own habitat, doing what they were born to do. His colorful work reflects an affinity for nature and philanthropy. He hopes it will inspire contemplation, inform the unfamiliar, spark an epiphany, trigger a memory, or simply provide aesthetic respite.

He loves to snowboard, sample beer, see live music, throw a Frisbee, read, camp, swim, question the status quo, and impersonate Christopher Walken. Find him if you're ever in Austin.
